(May 03, 2004) 10 Lords a Leapin’
(note from Ali: yup, running really late this
month. Sorry. But really, wouldn't you be more
surprised if this was actually on time??)
First a little shock and awe. Munkey is now 10
months old, quickly gaining on a year old. It
seems that just yesterday we were not sleeping
through the night. Oh wait, that was yesterday,
but it was because of a horrendous cold, not
because he needed to eat every few hours. Wait, if
he had his way, he would eat every few hours.
Never mind. The point is, he is growing up. His
personality is becoming more obvious by the day.
He had started weaning himself off of bottles. He
still has one occasionally, but usually prefers to
eat people food and be a big boy. He is a fan of
his teeth, and uses them on anything he can find,
daddy’s fingers, dog leashes, cheerios, crackers,
that weird brown thing he found on the carpet. On
the teeth front, he currently has about 8, maybe
more, but I am scared to go checking too close, at
the risk of loosing a digit. He officially has
more teeth than his grandpa, so I guess that is
something. Not sure if that is the beginning of a
Jeff Foxworthy joke or not.
Munkey has also developed a love for music. Not
all forms, but anything that has a lot of groove
to it. He is a huge fan of Hendrix like his daddy.
Every morning on the way to the sitter is a new
experiment, finding music he can be-bop to.
Speaking of sitters, we have found a new one. She
is about 2 blocks from the house, which makes
things really convenient. She loves Munkey, much
like everyone else does, and makes a point of
running to him for kisses when she sees us out and
about. I think it’s a great environment for him.
On the developmental side, he is crawling around
the house at lightspeed. He can pull up using
anything, people, dogs, walls, sofas, whatever is
handy. He is also figuring out how to open
cabinets and drawers. We spend hours each day
removing things we thought were safe from his
reach.
Godfather/Unkie Chris got Munkey his first game
system, and X-Box. I am not sure who is going to
be playing more, him or daddy, but its only a
matter of time before he can reprogram it to make
it go faster, and beat daddy at all the games.
Make sure you check out Snapfish for photo
updates, and keep your calendars open for the 1
year birthday blowout we will be planning soon.
